Description

Senior CPI (Continuous Product Improvement) Scientist - North Wicklow. Overall purpose of job: To work on development, design and improvement projects within the Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) group. The objective of the Senior CPI Scientist role is to coordinate, lead and execute projects and to support team members when needed to achieve overall CPI department goals and objectives. Core responsibilities: Lead product/process development/design/transfer/improvement projects, in compliance with company procedures and industry standards. Direct and support technical investigations and/or projects ensuring a standardised and systematic approach. Conduct scientific studies. Analyse data and processes. Develop, characterise and make formal recommendations, including compilation of technical reports to support project goals. Plan and execute experiments using design of experiment techniques. Re-engineer existing processes or test methods to adapt to changes in market, business, and/or regulatory requirements. Identify and communicate project progress, achievements and any project related issues to the Head of CPI Projects and key stakeholders. To be responsive to the business needs and implement prioritisation of ongoing activities to meet business needs on an ongoing basis. Work in concert with the operations teams to implement projects into routine operation. Ensure applicable GMP and GLP requirements are maintained. Ensure adherence to H&S policies and safe working practices. Providing technical mentorship to other members of the team, including guidance for technical issues and review/approval of documents. Work with a continuous improvement mindset for identifying and executing improvements in all aspects of the role. Work within cross-functional teams to identify key project/process or performance attributes and opportunities for product and process improvements. Work constructively with team members from R&D, Marketing, Operations, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, Clinical Affairs, Customer Service, and Finance. Work constructively with team members on multi-site projects. Interested applicants should have: Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent. An understanding of the scientific principles required for the manufacturing processes of the IVD industry or similar, and the skills required to record and analyse data from process testing or laboratory experiments. At least three years’ experience working in IVD/Medical Devices. At least two years’ experience within a similar technical or R&D role. Previous experience leading technical projects. Ability to read, analyse, and interpret technical data, and technical procedures. Excellent technical report writing. A willingness and ability to collaborate with and influence other groups in a positive, team-based environment. Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
