On behalf of my client, a global cosmetics company, we are looking for an experienced Formulation Chemist to join their team! Responsibilities: Responsible for the delivery of new colour cosmetic formulations to fulfil the Colour Cosmetics formulation pipeline. Design the formulation with key stake holders enabling risk reduced solutions to feed the New Product Development (NPD) launch plan. Maintain close awareness of scientific literature, raw materials technology, processing methodology, marketing trends and regulatory factors within colour cosmetics and apply these to future formulation projects. Work closely with suppliers of raw materials to investigate the full potential of ingredients, process and technologies to maximise scientific advancement and commercial benefit. Perform stability testing, panel testing and sensory screening of formulations to ensure that the highest quality of products are delivered through the New Product Development Process. Follow Design For Manufacture principals, analysing both bench, pilot and factory batches to generate scale up expertise. Build greater understanding of test methods, processing conditions and apply learning to enhance formulation behaviour, product performance and success in development. Manage project milestones, identify and highlight risks and implement contingency plans across all functions as appropriate from concept to delivery. Requirements: Honors Degree qualification in a scientific discipline. Minimum 3 years experience in colour cosmetic formulation development across Lipsticks, Mascara and Foundation. Extensive knowledge of cosmetic ingredients and their usage within colour cosmetics formulation. Evidence of working with marketing teams to turn product concepts into innovative, robust products to exceed consumer expectations. Excellent Raw Material Chemistry knowledge. Good communication skills and experience in tailoring communications to meet the needs of a variety of different stakeholders. Proven track record of investigative approach particularly in areas that are unfamiliar. Good working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing principles. Excellent project management skills and target focused.
