JOB DESCRIPTION Cpl Healthcare in association with our client, a quality accredited not for profit organisation who deliver a range of services to people with disabilities and limited mobility throughout Ireland are currently recruiting for a number of part-time Healthcare / Homecare / Personal Assistant opportunities in Bray, Co. Wicklow. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The purpose of the role is to enable the Service User to achieve maximum independence in all aspects of daily living by providing assistance in one or more of the following areas; personal care, domestic assistance, social and educational assistance, travel and companionship. LOCATION Homes & Communities of assigned Service Users across Wicklow. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To provide the full range of assistance as outlined below and in the individual service agreement in line with Irish Wheelchair Association policies and procedures. Personal Care – assistance with showering/bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing etc. Domestic Assistance – essential housework and light cooking as required by the person with a disability. To provide companionship and contribute to the social needs of the person with a disability, helping them to maintain a high quality of life. To accompany the person with a disability to appointments and outings as required. To provide assistance to the person with a disability to participate in educational activities as required and set out in the service agreement. To communicate with the person with a disability, their families and other colleagues with courtesy and respect. Any other relevant and appropriate duties which may be assigned from time to time. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Have a FETAC Level 5 Major Award in either Community & Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support or other relevant qualification. Have experience of working with people with disabilities. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English. Be reliable, trustworthy and maintain confidentiality at all times. Be required to undergo a Garda Vetting process prior to commencing work. Be required to successfully complete mandatory training prior to commencing work. Must hold a valid visa to work in Ireland. LIAISON Successful candidates will; Report to the Assisted Living Service Coordinator. Liaise and coordinate with other identified PAs as required. Maintain close communication with the ALS Coordinator / Administration staff. REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS Excellent pay rates available. Starting rate, €12.29 per hour, with yearly increments.
