Maintenance Manager - County Wicklow. Job summary: Directs and co-ordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through sub-ordinates: 1. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machine, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. 2. Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. 3. Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations. 4. Directs workers and contractors engaged in buildings and ground maintenance activities. 5. Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance staff. 6. Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities. 7. Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. 8. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labour and materials. 9. Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations. 10. Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures. 11. Confers with workers to resolve grievances. 12. Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 4-6 employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.
